CASA Kane County recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) for children in court due to abuse, neglect or private guardianship.  They are appointed by the Juvenile and Probate Court Judges to be the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for children under the age of 21.  CASA/GAL volunteers spend time with the children, families, teachers, therapists, and medical professionals to collect information that helps the Judge make the best interest decision for a safe, caring and permanent home for each child.  CASA Kane County’s 250 active CASA/GAL volunteers advocate for nearly 550 children annually!

Cancer does not discriminate… it affects 1 in 3 people. We, at The H Foundation, are united by the common goal to make a difference in the fight against cancer. We commit our time and resources because cancer is personal to each of us.  The H Foundation started out as a few friends with entrepreneurial spirit who wanted to raise money to support cancer research and honor the memories of loved ones they had lost. Since 2001, The H Foundation has raised over $5.5 million, donating all proceeds to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. These funds are used as seed money for basic science cancer research projects to help them advance and compete for additional government or private funding. As a result, our donations have literally turned into over $35 million in additional research dollars working towards finding a cure for cancer.
